Los Angeles metropolitan area

The Los Angeles metropolitan area, also known as Metropolitan Los Angelesor the Southland, is the 13th largest metropolitan area in the world and the second-largest metropolitan area in the United States. The metropolitan area is defined by the United States Census Bureau as the Los Angles-Long Beach-Santa Ana metropolitan area. This area consists of Los Angeles and Orange counties. Both of which are the two most populated counties in California with Los Angeles, being the most populated county in the United States. The metropolitan area is home to almost 15.5 million people, making it the most populous metropolitan area in the western United States and by far the largest in the U.S. State of California. The most densely populated urbanized area in the United States is at the heart of the metropolitan area, the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana, CA Urbanized Area.
